Looking for Jane McConville Keeney b ca 1855 possibly
PA d unknown. Spouse: Patrick Keeney (Kenny, Kinney)
m 25 Nov 1875 Allegheny Co Pittsburgh, PA. Children: Edward
b 1877 Pittsburgh; other children unknown. Family
religion was Catholic. Info from census, 1880 (only one found
on it) marriage record 1875 Allegheny City; Baptism record
where they are Godparents to my Duffy family 1879; City
Directories to 1890. Her marriage record lists her as Jane
McConville. The census of 1880 has Jenny and the baptism
record as Johanna. (record keeping not all that great back
then, was it). On the 1880 census they are living on West
Carson St on Pittsburgh’s South Side. They lived next door
to my family, Patrick Duffy and his wife Sarah McConville
was Jane her sister Also living with them were Edward and
Sarah McConville who were the parents of Sarah Duffy.
The family is found in the City Directories of Pittsburgh up
to 1890, but cannot be found on the 1900 census. I have not
found a Jane, Jenny, or Johanna on any earlier census, even
thou I have found Edw & Sarah (who I believe may be her
parents) and my own Sarah McConville Duffy. So who was
Jane McConville Keeney Where did they go I know that
Patrick Keeney was the son of Hugh and Alice Keeney, he
was born in Pittsburgh abt 1852. Looking to make a connection
with anyone following the McConville’s and Keeney’s
from Allegheny Co PA.

Looking for Sophia Hatt b ca 1830 NY d unknown. Spouse:
William Smally m ca 1835. Children: Ann b ca 1835; Harriet

Ancestor’s parents were William and Hannah (Spear) Hatt.
Ancestor’s occupation was housewife. Hatt family tree that
was brought to the Hatt reunion in Lansing, MI, 17 August
1992, at that time in possession of Violet Boettcher, Lansing,
MI. Searched 1850 census, Deerfield Twp., Livingston Co. MI.
Sophia is living with her husband and children, as well as
William Hatt, whom I believe was her husband. For about 25
years I have been researching William Hatt (born circa 1758,
England, died after 1810, NY) and his descendants. One of
his sons was William Hatt b (ca 1786, NY d Feb 1861; Howell
b Livingston Co, MI), who was m to Hannah Spear (ca 1790,
NY d 1828, near Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Co. MI). This William
and Hannah had six children: William, Jr.; Sofia; Melisa;
Sampson; John “Jack”; Sarah; Polly. This query will primarily
concentrate on Sophia. She appeared on a hand-drawn family
tree that was brought to the Hatt reunion in 1992. Other than
that, I had no record of her. I recently found a census record
of Sophia and William Smally, in Deerfield Twp., Livingston
Co., MI, with William Hatt living in their household. Since I
didn’t know Sophia’s husband’s name, I knew nothing abut
her. This particular census doesn’t list relationships, but I believe
William was Sophia’s father. If anyone knows anything
about William and Sophia (Hatt) Smally, or their descendants,
I would really appreciate hearing from you.
