This CD-ROM is an index of wills, marriage licenses, and other applications to the Consistorial Court of Dublin Diocese, serving the counties of Dublin, Wicklow, and part of Kildare, from 1200 to 1800. It covers about 40,000 people, and was compiled by Dr. J.J. Digges. It was originally published as an appendix to the 26th Report of the Deputy Keeper of Public Records of Ireland (1895). At this period many of the legal functions which are now the duty of a civil Probate court were performed by the Church of Ireland. This included proving wills and regulation of marriages for all religious denominations. The index names almost 40,000 people and the year of the court judgment of each. An address is given for some 8,000 of the people listed, and trade, status or other personal information is provided for approximately 4,000. System Requirements: You must have a CD-ROM drive, and Windows 98; 2000; NT 4.0, XP or higher. This CD-ROM contains the entire 2,479-page book of Gone From Texas—all in PDF. The CD is fully word searchable, and is also in Alphabetical Order. The volume is a necrology listing more than 130,000 deaths that occurred from January 1, 1880 to December 31, 1900 of people who died in Texas, Texans who died outside the state, and people who lived in Texas for a time, but died somewhere else. The index was created from information extracted from news articles, funeral notices, cards of thanks, and mortuary reports from the following newspapers: • Dallas (Daily) Times Herald • Houston (Daily) Post • Galveston Daily News • San Antonio Express Entries are coded by newspaper followed by date, page, and column, enabling the researcher to request the article on interlibrary loan from your local library.
