FISHING, HUNTING,
SHELLFISH INFO.
Time is running out… Summer Dungeness Crabbing is almost over! It will
be open Wednesday through Saturday next week, and then Wednesday
through Monday on Labor Day weekend. Still 2 pots per person, 5 crab per
person per day, 6 1/4 inches min., hard-shell males only.
Coho are just starting to round the bend of Whidbey Island; anglers are
reporting scattered sightings/landings of Silvers at Possession Bar. So it
will be another couple of weeks before we start to see a good showing
of them around Camano Island as they make their way to the Skagit &
Stilly rivers. That being said, there is always a chance you can land the stray
Silver Salmon at many of the popular Camano Spots(Elger Bay, Onamac Pt,
Greenbank, Camano Head or Rocky Pt to name a few).
Anglers are still having success catching Kings at both the Tulalip Bubble
and Possession Bar. Several 8lb – 15lb keepers have been brought in these
past 2 weeks from both of these spots. Most success seems to come from
White Lightning or Cookies & Cream spoons and green or purple spatterback
squids & flys. Whatever you use, make sure it is UV/Glow and put lots
of Herring scent on it to maximize your chances! Troll at 65-80 ft deep behind
a Purple Haze, UV Green, Green Glow or Army Truck 11” flasher.
