Admission:<br />

Students must achieve a Level I standing <strong>of</strong> at least 7.0 in <strong>the</strong> best 80% <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> 30 units <strong>of</strong> Level I work, including a grade <strong>of</strong> at least B - in Drama 1A06.<br />

Programme Note:<br />

Students in Drama must include a minimum <strong>of</strong> 3 units <strong>of</strong> work from at<br />

least 3 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 4 Fields <strong>of</strong> Study (See Programme Notes under Drama).<br />

HONOURS ARTS AND SCIENCE AND ECONOMICS<br />

(There are two options <strong>of</strong> study for this combined programme described<br />

Option A requires a Level Istanding <strong>of</strong> at least 7.0, with at least 7.0 in<br />

Economics 1A06. Option B requires a Level II Cumulative Area Average<br />

<strong>of</strong> at least 7.0, with at least 7.0 in Economics 1A06.<br />

Programme Note:<br />

For both Options A and B, a Single Graduation Average will be calculated<br />

on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> all Level II, III and IV Economics courses and all Level III and<br />

IV Arts and Science courses, and Arts and Science 2A06 and 2D06.<br />

HONOURS ARTS AND SCIENCE AND ENGLISH<br />

Students who entered this programme before September 1990 must<br />

consult <strong>the</strong> Departmental Counsellor to discuss ways <strong>of</strong> meeting <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

programme requirements.<br />

Enrolment in this programme is limited. Selection is based on academic<br />

achievement, but requires, as a minimum, a Level I standing <strong>of</strong><br />

at least 7.0 in <strong>the</strong> best 80% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 30 units <strong>of</strong> Level I work including a<br />

grade <strong>of</strong> at.!{:!ast B - in English 1D06.<br />

Programme Notes:<br />

1. Compietion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English component <strong>of</strong> this combined programme<br />

requires a minimum <strong>of</strong> 6 units <strong>of</strong> work from four <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> six fields<br />

listed in Department Note #2 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> "Department <strong>of</strong> English" section<br />

<strong>of</strong> this Calendar. English 2A06, 4X03 and <strong>the</strong> Level IV seminars may<br />

not be used for field coverage. Students should plan <strong>the</strong>ir programmes<br />

in consultation with <strong>the</strong> Departmental Counsellor in <strong>the</strong><br />

English Department:<br />

2. In addition to <strong>the</strong> 36 units <strong>of</strong> English Area courses, students must successfully<br />

complete 6 units <strong>of</strong> a language o<strong>the</strong>r than English. The English<br />

Departl11ent strongly advises students to fulfill this requirement before<br />

Level III.<br />

3. With special' permission <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English Department, students may substitute<br />

English 4X03 for 3 units <strong>of</strong> Level IV seminar work in <strong>the</strong> second term.<br />
