Multiplication
Multiplication is really a fast way to add. We
use the symbol × to mean multiply. When you
see 3 × 4, it means the number 3 is to be
multiplied by the number 4. We often say,
3 times 4. That is because in multiplication, you
are counting the same number multiple times.
In this example, 3 × 4, you are counting a group
of 4 … 3 times.

count, we learn the fact that 3 groups of 4 equals
