Support for Industry
Whilst the global financial turmoil receded steadily, world trade
remained weak last year. In view of the uncertain economic
recovery outlook and difficulties faced by manufacturers, the FHKI
took the opportunity of the Pre-Policy Address and Pre-Budget
consultations to lobby the Government. Our main submissions
were to maintain the economic relief measures, in particular
the Special Loan Guarantee Scheme and the enhanced services
of Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation, to support
enterprises and preserve employment. The FHKI also requested
the Government to render stronger assistance to manufacturers
in upgrading, transformation and pursuing domestic sales in the
Mainland.

Promoting New Pillar Industries
