Youth Camps & Programs<br />

Nature Camp<br />

9 am–12 noon<br />

or<br />

1 pm–4 pm<br />

For children finishing grades 1–4<br />

Go Green! This extremely popular camp is designed<br />

for children who are interested in nature and<br />

the environment. We turn facts about the earth,<br />

outdoors, plants and people into exciting games,<br />

activities and craft projects. Camp is led by an<br />

experienced head counselor and Science teacher.<br />

This program will be held at Point Ariel Park.<br />

Youth Art Lessons<br />

Wednesdays: June 30; Last class August 18<br />

4:30–5: 30 pm<br />

$90 to Masciangelo/$10 to GT(residents)<br />

$20 (non-residents)<br />

This art class is designed for children with a serious<br />

interest in art. Children will learn how to create artwork<br />

in a variety of mediums both 2-D and 3-D. Colored<br />

pencils, pastels, paint, collage, and mask making are<br />

some of the various mediums that students will explore.<br />

All experience levels are welcome. This class is taught by<br />

a skilled and certified art teacher; providing personalized<br />

instruction to meet your child’s needs and interests.<br />

Supplies are included in cost, but students are welcome<br />

to bring their personal art supplies as well. Please bring a<br />

drawing pad and pencil with you. Held at Point Ariel Park.<br />

Tennis Camp<br />

1. June 28–July 1 6–8 pm<br />

2. August 9-12 8:30–10:30 am<br />

$45 to Ron Miller/$20 to GT (residents)<br />

$30 (non-residents)<br />

This camp gives students ages 7-12 a chance to<br />

have outdoor fun while focusing on the fundamental<br />

tennis skills of ground strokes (forehand & backhand),<br />

air strokes (volley, serve, & overhead), court<br />

movement, tennis etiquette, and proper scoring.<br />

Students will develop abilities through drills, learning<br />

activities, and competitive games. Friday will be<br />

used as a raindate. Held at GT Community Park.<br />

Basketball Camp<br />

1. July 12–16 Grades K–4 1–4 pm<br />

2. Aug 9–13 Grades K–4 9 am–noon<br />

3. Aug 9–13 Grades 5–8 1–4 pm<br />

$40 to C. Senatore/$20 to GT<br />

(residents) $30 (non-residents)<br />

The focus of this camp is to teach basketball skills. Have<br />

fun during this camp while learning the fundamentals<br />

of the sport through skill building. Please bring a drink<br />

and a snack daily and wear sneakers. Instructor Charles<br />

Senatore is back for his 13th year! Held at the Rec Center.<br />

Little Tikes Cheer Camp<br />

July 12–16<br />

6 pm–7:30 pm<br />

Cost: $40 to Diane Jones/$20 to Glo. Twp.<br />

Join this fun camp designed just for ages 4–6.<br />

Your child will learn the basics of cheerleading<br />

including jumps, motions, cheers and chants.<br />

Basic tumbling and dancing will be covered<br />

too. Last night will be a Pep Rally to show off<br />

our skills. Learn from an experienced coach<br />

not only cheerleading skills, but teamwork and<br />

the love of the sport. Held at the Rec Center.<br />

Little Tikes Soccer Camp<br />

July 19–22<br />

6 pm–7:30 pm<br />

Cost: $40 to Jessica Porter/$20 to Glo. Twp.<br />

Join this fun camp designed just for ages 4–6.<br />

This camp will create a foundation of basic<br />

soccer skills for children who have little or no<br />

exposure to the sport. Other goals of the camp<br />

include: building social skills, learning teamwork,<br />

and most of all having fun. Friday will be used<br />

as rain date. Held at GT Community Park.<br />

Theatre Camp<br />

July 12·24 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm 2 WEEKS!<br />

$100 to C. Ahern/$20 to GT<br />

(residents) $30 (non-residents)<br />

This camp is for children ages 8–12 with an<br />

interest in drama. Campers will be introduced<br />

to acting techniques, the stage, improvisation,<br />

interactive group dynamics, and monologues.<br />

The class is designed to increase confidence<br />

and improve public speaking skills in a fun way.<br />

It is led by Chris Ahern, a certified teacher with<br />

experience in theater. Held at Point Ariel Park.<br />

Youth Tennis Lessons<br />

Saturdays: June 12; Last class July 24<br />

$50 to Ron Miller/$10 to GT<br />

(residents) $20 (non-residents)<br />

The Intro course provides fun activities for children<br />

that emphasize basic skills with strokes, terms,<br />

movement and scoring through the use of<br />

instructional games and specialized equipment.<br />

The Beginners class provides a fun environment<br />

where students learn fundamental skills of tennis<br />

(forehand, backhand, volley, serve, court movement,<br />

etiquette, and scoring). A child sized racket is<br />

recommended. Held at GT Community Park.<br />

Intro to Tennis I 8:30–9:25 am Grade 1–3<br />

Intro to Tennis II 9:30–10:25 am Grade 1–3<br />

Beginners I & II 10:30–11:25 am Grade 4–6<br />
