Just Care awards
To recognise outstanding achievements within HSE and to reinforce the
behaviours that led to them, every year our President &CEO presents
four Just Care awards: the President’s HSE award for the best overall
HSE achievement, and one award each for achievements in health, safety
and the environment.
President’s HSE award
The Kashagan epF project received the President’s HSE award for their fabrication and
assembly of seven process and utility modules, spanning over 12 million worked hours
with 35 nationalities at locations in Norway, Poland, Romania and Russia. Through
extensive efforts in training, communication and management visibility, coupled with the
right performance incentives, the project successfully exported Aker Solutions’ HSE
mindset and standards to sites that historically had aless mature HSE culture, achieving
zero serious injuries over the project’s five years and leaving apositive legacy at all
subcontractor sites.
Health award
Aker Solutions in Verdal, Norway received
the Health award for their ’Multivago’
welding automation. Developed by welders
in Verdal, the Multivago system enables
the automated welding of long and large
tubular weld seams, avoiding static
and unfavourable welding positions while
achieving increased efficiency and reduced
health risks. Multivago was initiated for the
production of a series of tripod wind
turbine foundations, and has now been
shared and is in use on other projects.
Safety award
Our drilling equipment business received
the Safety award for their drilling equipment
simulator. The simulator has been
developed by First Interactive AS (60 percent
owned by Aker Solutions) and the
safety training is organised and facilitated
by our drilling equipment unit. The training
enables safe and cost efficient training
of drilling crews, improved safety for
operators on the historically dangerous
drill floor and, ultimately, improved and
safer drilling operations. The drilling equipment
simulator has introduced a step
change, bringing to the drilling industry
what the flight simulator has brought to the
aviation industry.
Environmental award
The Ekofisk tank cell cleaning project
received the Environmental award. Through
the use of aspecially developed, remote
operated cleaning tool, 99% of the oil and
wax layer was removed from nine tank
cells and re-injected into the Ekofisk reservoir.
The project was executed within the
agreed time frame, exceeding the customer’s
requirement for oil and wax removal,
and with an excellent HSE cultureresulting
in zero spills to the environment and zero
injuries.
