DXserver Configuration Files<br />

Configuration Grouping Files<br />

Each component directory can consist of one or more configuration (.dxc) files.<br />

For complex configurations typically involving multiple DSAs, you might need a<br />

number of configuration files, grouped in a convenient manner using grouping<br />

(.dxg) files:<br />

Group 1 Group 2<br />

commands A commands B commands C<br />

As an example, suppose the DSAs TestCorp1, TestCorp2, and TestCorp3 all<br />

require the schema files x500.dxc, cosine.dxc, and inetop.dxc. Rather than<br />

“sourcing” each of these files from each of the DSA initialization files, it is more<br />

convenient to create a TestCorp.dxg file containing the following lines:<br />

source “x500.dxc”;<br />

source “cosine.dxc”;<br />

source “inetop.dxc”;<br />

Each DSA initialization file would then contain the following line:<br />

source “../schema/TestCorp.dxg”;<br />

The advantage of this approach is that, if these DSAs require additional schema,<br />

only a single file—TestCorp.dxg—needs editing.<br />

Reasons for grouping files are:<br />

To present a view that abstracts any internal organization within the<br />

component<br />

To manage ordering of the configuration files—especially important in<br />

schema where definitions in one file depend on definitions in another file<br />

Typically the schema and knowledge files are grouped.<br />
