There are many ways to solve most math problems. You will decide
which strategy works best for you when you read the problems. Here
is a list of problem-solving strategies:
• Draw a picture: This strategy can help you look at the
information in the problem a different way—useful when the
problem is about distance or location.

when the input changes.
• Make a table: This strategy can help you solve problems that
have a lot of information to organize.

When Lilly was 7 years old, she earned an allowance of $0.75.
When she was 8 years old, she earned $1.25, and when she was
9 years old, she earned $1.75. Now Lilly is 10 years old. If the
pattern continues how much allowance does Lilly earn?
