(e.g. an agent ceasing <strong>to</strong> make payments <strong>to</strong> his supplier because of a trust<br />
account is in <strong>de</strong>ficitary position).<br />

1.2.4 <strong>Travel</strong> Agents Advisory Committee<br />
1.2.4.1 Who are <strong>the</strong> members of <strong>the</strong> committee?<br />
In or<strong>de</strong>r <strong>to</strong> represent <strong>the</strong> commercial activity involved in <strong>the</strong> travel industry<br />
as faithfully as possible, <strong>the</strong> Regulation respecting <strong>Travel</strong> Agents provi<strong>de</strong>s<br />
for <strong>the</strong> creation of travel agent advisory committee. In addition <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> presi<strong>de</strong>nt<br />
of <strong>the</strong> OPC, <strong>the</strong> committee has eight members appointed by <strong>the</strong><br />
Minister of Justice for a <strong>de</strong>fined period of time: four persons representing<br />
<strong>the</strong> travel industry, two consumer representatives <strong>and</strong> finally two government<br />
representatives. The presi<strong>de</strong>nt of <strong>the</strong> OPC chairs <strong>the</strong> committee but<br />
can <strong>de</strong>signate a substitute.<br />
