A new era for Riverland’s Rosenthals
One hundred and two years
after their grandfather
Mick Rosenthal opened a bike
shop in Renmark, Jim and
Phil Rosenthal have unveiled
a stunning new dealership in
Berri.
“It is with great pride Jim and
I and our families stand here
tonight,” Phil said.
“What would our grandfather
be thinking?” he mused.
“He would be proud along
with Dad and Uncle Ron.”
And they weren’t the only
ones who would be proud of
the two brothers ambitious and
bold plan to consolidate their
Renmark and Berri dealerships
into new premises at Berri.
The 1200 square metre
showroom will house Holden,
Mitsubishi, Hyundai and
Mazda dealerships while the
balance of the 3000 square
metres contains the new
workshop area.
The plan to consolidate to
one site was formulated back in
1988, but for a variety of reasons
did not gain traction until two
years ago.
Even then as they embarked
upon the multi-million-dollar
project, the global financial crisis
took hold.
“The Commonwealth Bank
saw what our vision was and
backed us,” Jim said.
Hundreds of Rosenthal’s
customers, business partners,
friends, dignatories and family
members attended the official
opening on Friday, April 30
2010.
Guests included the Member
for Chaffey, Tim Whetstone
MP, Chairman of the MTA’s
Riverland division, Mr Kym
Webber and Chris and Eve
vander Woude from River
Murray Auto Wreckers.
SGIC, which has had a
long-term partnership with
Rosenthals, was represented
by Manager Peter Webber,
Riverland representive
Jamie McInnes and Dealer
representative Grant Brooks.
Joint Managing Directors Jim
and Phil spent considerable
time at the opening thanking
everyone who had helped in the
project and in particular their
staff for their dedication.
“We pride ourselves in keeping
everyone satisfied,” Jim said.
“Customer satisfaction is our
goal.”
The official opening was
conducted by Berri Barmera
Mayor Peter Hunt who
congratulated the Rosenthal
family for their commitment to
the Riverland region.
So where to from here?
“Phil and I have to work until
we are 115 (to pay for it)!” Jim
said.
“It’s what gets us out of bed
each day,” he added with a grin.
Sparks flew at Rosenthal’s new dealership with a brilliant
fireworks display ending the official opening.
