(i) set a part and apply annually such sum as may be required to meet the cost<br />
of its own administration including the payment of salary, allowances,<br />
provident fund and gratuity to the officers and employees and to the<br />
Executive Officer, 2 [the Additional Executive Officer, the Secretary or the<br />
Deputy Secretary;]<br />
(ii) allocate the money received under clause (i) of sub-section (1) among the<br />
Gram <strong>Panchayat</strong>s of the district concerned.<br />
(3) Every Zilla Parishad shall have the power to spend such sums as it thinks fit<br />
for carrying out the purposes of this <strong>Act</strong>.<br />
(4) <strong>The</strong> Zilla Parishad Fund shall be vested in the Zilla Parishad and the amount<br />
standing to the credit of the fund shall be kept in such custody or invested in such<br />
manner as the State Government may, from time to time, direct.<br />
(5) Subject to such general control as the Zilla Parishad may exercise, from time<br />
to time, all orders and cheques for payment from the Zilla Parishad Fund shall be<br />

180. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Cess <strong>Act</strong>, 1880, the proceeds<br />
of road cess and public works cess, if any, levied and realised in a district shall<br />
be credited to the Zilla Parishad Fund after payment of the expenses mentioned<br />
in section 109 of the said <strong>Act</strong>.<br />
181. (1) Subject of such maximum rates as the State Government may prescribe,<br />
a Zilla Parishad may—<br />
(a) levy tolls on persons, vehicles or animals or any class of them at any toll-bar<br />
established by it on any road other than a kutcha road or any bridge vested in it<br />
or under its management;<br />
(b) levy tolls in respect of any ferry established by it or under its management;<br />
(c) levy the following fees and rates, namely:—<br />
(i) fees on the registration of boats or vehicles;<br />
