1. POLICY ANNEXURE L11 - AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SCHEDULE a. The Concessionaire shall comply with all Regulatory Provisions in respect of employment Equity and implement and adhere to the following principles in respect of its employment practices, namely- i. preference will be given to the employment of suitably qualified and experienced previously disadvantaged individuals from communities within the Concession Area, based on the operational needs of the Concessionaire as well as its training and development requirements; ii. the Concessionaire shall, as far as possible, maintain and employ a staff complement that is representative in terms of the demographic composition of the community within the Concession Area; iii. internal promotions of suitably qualified staff will be the preferred solution when filling vacancies; iv. international experts will transfer skills and expertise to employees through a mentorship process. 2. TARGETS a. The Concessionaire will set “affirmative action” targets to be achieved within 5 (five) years. Targets will be set for all levels in the organisational hierarchy. These targets will be set after consultation with the workforce and their unions and take into account the specific realities pertaining at any given time and, if necessary, revised to remain achievable. b.
