There are many different types <strong>of</strong> streams in <strong>Wolfeboro</strong>, including both intermittent and<br />
perennial streams. A perennial stream contains water at least 90 percent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> time in a well<br />
defined channel. An intermittent stream, on <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r hand, generally contains water only during<br />
<strong>the</strong> wet season, which can be anywhere from 50 percent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> time or even less. Sometimes<br />
<strong>the</strong>re are ephemeral streams, but <strong>the</strong>se only occur after a large storm and/or snowmelt for a very<br />
