PARADES
General
105.1. All Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1st-3rd prize-winners in the Light Horse Section in which the
judging has been completed are required to take part in the afternoon Parade, after which they may
leave. Prize-winners of placings other than 1st-3rd may also parade if they so wish.
105.2. Stabling for Horses which become eligible to participate in events such as The Horse of the Year
Show Cuddy Breeders Challenge Qualifier. Stabling will only be made free of charge for horses and
ponies that have to remain on the Showground following qualification for events such as the Cuddy
Breeders Challenge. Other horses or ponies exhibited by owner/exhibitors or producer/exhibitors which
have accompanied the eligible animal/s to the Royal Highland Show will be charged the appropriate
stabling rate, should they also stay.
Parade Card Procedure
105.3. All Friday, Saturday and Sunday prize-winners in the Light Horse Section in those Sections where
judging has been completed, will be given a Parade Card from the steward when the rosettes are
presented, at the conclusion of judging of each class. Parade Cards must be carried by the handler/rider
and handed to the Steward on ENTRY from the Main Ring. Parade Cards must be completed by the
Exhibitor before the parade.
Where an Exhibitor of a 1st-3rd prize-winner feels that they have a valid reason to be exempted from
taking part in the parade then they should contact the Chief Steward of Light Horses prior to the
commencement of the parade. Should the Chief Steward agree, they will sign the reverse of the Parade
Card, authorising absence from the parade, and retain the Parade Card (see also Penalties, below).
Penalties for Failure of 1st-3rd Prize-Winners to Parade
105.4. Failure to parade by 1st-3rd prize-winners in the Light Horse Section (except where specifically
authorised by the Chief Steward - see Parade Card Procedure above) will result in automatic forfeiture
of any prize monies won in respect of that animal, without any further contact between the Society and
that Exhibitor. Further, the photographs of non-paraded animals will be excluded from those of winners
published in the Royal Highland Show Review.
