WELSH COBS (Section D) (All to be Shown In-Hand) Note: Eligibility of Exhibit, see Reg. 104 Exhibitors should note the scheduled time of commencement of their section, as shown below, and ensure that their animals are on the Showground in good time for judging. Exhibitors may leave after the afternoon Parade in which all 1st-3rd Prize-winners will be required to take part - see Reg. 105. This Show is affiliated to the Welsh Pony and Cob Society. All animals must be registered with the Welsh Pony and Cob Society. Mares nursing foals at foot must have their foals with them in the ring. The foals will not be shown for judging. Further Competitions/Qualifiers/Awards: Welsh Pony and Cob Society Bronze Medals The Champion or Reserve Champion in this Section will be eligible for a WPCS Bronze Medal (in accordance with WPCS rules). The National Welsh & Part-Bred Championship Show The Champion and Reserve, or 2nd Reserve, Section D will qualify for the National Supreme In-Hand Section D Championship. NATIONAL PONY SOCIETY GUIDELINES The Royal Highland Show is affiliated to the National Pony Society and we set out appropriate guidelines within this Prize List. You should also refer to the website on www.nationalponysociety.org.uk for the complete set of rules and regulations relative to each section and for membership requirements. NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championship Conditions To be judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the Owner of the champion pony is a Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the Rider’s/Handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a Member, or the Owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the Qualification Card goes to the Reserve Champion Pony, provided the Owner of that pony is a Member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the Qualification Card can only be awarded no lower than first Reserve. Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal championships. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 3rd - 5th August 2011. NPS Mountain and Moorland Qualifying Rounds These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS Members and Non Members but only ponies owned by adult NPS members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Championship Show at Malvern from 3rd - 5th August 2011 The highest placed pony owned by an NPS member in each class will qualify for the Final. Where this pony has already qualified, the pony standing next in line which is owned by an NPS member and has not already qualified receives the qualification. Qualification may go no lower than third place. Judges and/or stewards will check membership cards prior to presenting the qualifying rosettes and cards. NPS Adult/Standard members will be required to upgrade to Full membership to enter the Final. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS Members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. NPS Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony Qualifying Rounds These classes are judged under the Rules of NPS. Ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix. Ponies must be plaited. Qualifying rounds are open to both NPS Members and Non Members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Championship Show at Malvern from 3rd - 5th August 2011 51
