GENERAL REGULATIONS<br />

ENTRIES<br />

Disclaimer of Liability<br />

1.1. The term Exhibitor shall include persons<br />

taking part in any competition, exhibition or<br />

display arranged by the Society and the owner<br />

of any animal, plant, machinery or other thing<br />

involved in any such competition or display or<br />

otherwise exhibited on the <strong>Show</strong>ground. Save<br />

for death or personal injury caused by breach of<br />

its duty, the Society will not be responsible for<br />

death, injury, disease, damage or loss caused to<br />

any Exhibitor or to his/her servant or agent or to<br />

any animal, article, plant, machinery or thing of<br />

whatever nature brought on to the<br />

<strong>Show</strong>ground by the said Exhibitor from<br />

whatever cause death, injury, disease, damage<br />

or loss arises.<br />

1.2. Save as aforesaid the Exhibitor shall<br />

indemnify the Society against all claims,<br />

damages and expenses whatsoever in any way<br />

arising out of the presence of the Exhibitor,<br />

his/her servants, agents, exhibits, vehicles or<br />

equipment on the <strong>Show</strong>ground and shall<br />

assume full responsibility therefore.<br />

1.3. Acceptance of the foregoing provisions shall<br />

be a condition of entry.<br />

1.4. Exhibitors are advised to insure against fire<br />

and other appropriate risk not only as regards<br />

their own property but also against any third<br />

party claims.<br />

Responsibility of Exhibitors<br />

2.1. Exhibitors shall be answerable for all acts,<br />

whether committed by themselves, their<br />

attendants, or others in charge of their stock,<br />

and shall be responsible for the condition of<br />

their animals during the whole time they remain<br />

in the <strong>Show</strong>ground. Animals which are known<br />

to be wild or fractious by nature must not be<br />

brought to the <strong>Show</strong>ground. In the event of any<br />

animal being excluded or removed from the<br />

<strong>Show</strong>ground on the orders of the Chief Steward,<br />

any refund of fees or deposit shall be at the sole<br />

discretion of the Society.<br />

2.2. Exhibitors and their attendants are<br />

responsible for reporting any abnormal<br />

behaviour of their animals to the Chief Steward<br />

of their Section or to the Official Veterinary<br />

Surgeons. The Stewards shall have authority to<br />

exclude from Parades and/or the <strong>Show</strong>ground<br />

any animal which in their opinion is wild or<br />

fractious to the extent of being a danger to the<br />

public, without prejudice to what is provided in<br />

these Regulations as to the liability of Exhibitors.<br />

Exhibitors and their attendants or other persons<br />

in charge of the Exhibitors’ stock are responsible<br />

for the welfare of their animals, both during<br />

transit to and from the <strong>Show</strong> and whilst in the<br />

<strong>Show</strong>ground. The decision of the Society’s<br />

Veterinary Surgeons during the <strong>Show</strong> shall be<br />

final on all matters relating to animal welfare.<br />

2.3. Exhibitors are prohibited from using any<br />

electrical equipment or device to restrain their<br />

animals whilst in the <strong>Show</strong>ground or on vehicles<br />

parked on the Society’s property.<br />

Entries<br />

3.1. Entries will only be accepted up till the<br />

following dates on appropriate forms<br />

obtainable from the Society’s <strong>Show</strong><br />

7th April Horses, Cattle, Sheep<br />

21st April Horse Shoeing and Shoe Making<br />

Goats<br />

Harness, Grooming and Decoration<br />

Heavy Horse Turnouts<br />

Horse and Pony Driving<br />

28th April Dairy Products<br />

30th April Poultry<br />

12th May Honey<br />

12th May Fleece<br />

12th May Sheep Shearing<br />

3rd June <strong>Show</strong> Jumping<br />

3.2. No entries will be accepted by the <strong>Show</strong><br />

Department unless accompanied by the<br />

appropriate fees, plus VAT at the standard rate<br />

prevailing at date of receipt of entry.<br />
