It is with great pleasure and pride that I write of the
fantastic achievements of our students this year. Put
simply we achieved a 100% pass rate in all
A Level subjects, making us the highest performing
Sixth Form in the area. These results continue our
tradition of students achieving better than their
expected grades. Indeed, we are amongst the top
colleges in the country for stretching students so
they achieve their very best*.
I am also pleased to announce that this year marks
the opening of MC6, Middlesbrough College’s brand
new Sixth Form serving the Tees Valley and North
Yorkshire. The £6.5million pound investment in
this modern and technologically advanced facility
represents an important development in A Level
provision in the region. There is such a deep well of
talent in the area, and the young people of the Tees
Valley deserve no less than the very best - the best
teachers, the best facilities and the best prospects.
I’ve spoken of the fantastic achievements of our
students, and the wonderful facilities offered by our
new building. Of equal importance is the support
that we offer to nurture and fulfil the potential and
promise of young people. I think that these ideas are
best embodied in the values of MC6, which can be
expressed as follows:
