What does the course involve?<br />
This course examines modern world History, with a focus on the<br />
20th Century world. We take a look at the Vietnam War and the<br />
European Dictatorships before World War Two and an in depth<br />
study of Britain from 1951 to 2007. A Level History aims to analyse<br />
various topics to discover why certain events took place and why<br />
they led to a particular outcome, with suggestions of the most<br />
important factors and discussion of the arguments about the past<br />
we come across.<br />

Additional Entry Requirements<br />
Grade B in GCSE English Language or English Literature.<br />
How will I be assessed<br />
Two exams in the first year, one in January and one in the summer.<br />
In the second year, one piece of coursework and an exam in the<br />
summer.<br />
What can I do after the course?<br />
Most students go on to university, studying courses like History,<br />
Law and English. There are a range of jobs History can lead to such<br />
as Teacher, Politician, Museum Work, Researcher, Journalist – the<br />
list is endless!<br />

What does the course involve?<br />
This course is designed for people who are everyday users of<br />
computers and who want to know more about ICT generally.<br />
Awareness of the impact of information technology on individuals,<br />
organisations and society is covered in some detail. Both AS<br />
and A2 courses are concerned with the safety, security and<br />
communication of stored information, in the context of a sound<br />
academic knowledge base. The A2 component extends all these<br />
themes.<br />

How will I be assessed<br />
AS Level has two written exams each lasting 1.5 hours.<br />
A2 Level Module 3 - One 2 hour examination<br />
Module 4 - Coursework project report (worth 20% of the whole<br />
A Level).<br />
What can I do after the course?<br />
ICT at both AS and A2 Level will prepare you for an ever increasing<br />
number of courses in higher education, including Information<br />
Technology, Business Studies and Teaching etc.<br />
