What does the course involve?<br />

Psychology is the study of the mind and behaviour of individuals.<br />

It is an interesting subject which is suitable for a diverse<br />

range of career paths. This course will allow you to develop an<br />

understanding of psychological terms and concepts and apply<br />

psychological theories to examples of human behaviour.<br />

How will I be assessed<br />

AS Psychology is assessed through two written exams (1.5 hours<br />

each). One is taken in January and one in the summer. Each<br />

exam contributes 50% of the AS and 25% of the A2 grade. A2<br />

Psychology is assessed through two longer written exams (2<br />

hours each), one is in January and one in the summer. Each exam<br />

contributes to 25% of the A2 grade.<br />

What can I do after the course?<br />

There are numerous options available but most of our learners<br />

go on to study at Universities across the country. Some take this<br />

subject further with a Psychology Degree, while others find it<br />

useful because it crops up in other disciplines such as Teaching,<br />

Nursing etc. The analytical skills and research methods are very<br />

useful in any Science based degree too.<br />

What does the course involve?<br />

This course offers an academic approach to the study of religion<br />

and is accessible to students of any religious persuasion or none.<br />

It encourages you to adopt an enquiring, critical and reflective<br />

approach to the study of religion. You will study Religion and<br />

Ethics as well as the Philosophy of Religion and will consider the<br />

Life, Death and Beyond in the second year.<br />

How will I be assessed<br />

There are two written exams - one in January and one in June.<br />

Each exam is weighted 50% of the qualification and lasts one hour<br />

and 15 minutes.<br />

What can I do after the course?<br />

Students who take this A Level often progress to a degree in<br />

subjects such as Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, Law,<br />

Sociology and Social Sciences.<br />
