Student Services at Middlesbrough College offers
a wide range of support to students. There is a
dedicated ’One Stop Support Shop’ based on
the ground floor of the College, situated behind
main reception. Support is offered at any stage of
your time here.

PROFESSIONAL AND
CAREER DEVELOPMENT LOANS
What are they?
A Professional and Career Development Loan
is a bank loan. You make an agreement with
a participating bank to borrow an amount
between £300 and £10,000.
What’s the difference between a Professional
and Career Development Loan and an
ordinary loan?
The Skills Funding Agency pays the interest on
the loan while you’re studying – and for one
month afterwards. After this, you’ll pay interest
at the rate fixed when you took out the loan. For

THE LEARNING RESOURCES CENTRE (LRC)
Whether you want to study, use a computer, or
undertake research, you can choose to work in
a lively, quiet or silent environment within our
Learning Resources Centre.
The Centre is equipped with over 200
computers, internet access, award-winning
online learning resources, DVD, video and
audio resources and 37,000 lending and
reference books.
If you have a disability, accessible resources
are available such as adjustable tables,
coloured overlays and large key keyboards.
Our trained, experienced and friendly staff will
always be on hand to support and help you.
