The Manawatu‐Wanganui Regional Council hereby applies for the following type(s) of resource consent:
Land use consent:
To carry out the construction, use and maintenance of flood protection and erosion control structures within the
Residential Zone, Conservation and Amenity Zone and the Water Recreation Zone.
The names and addresses of the owner and occupier (other than the applicant) of land to which the application relates are as follows:

The location of the proposed activity is as follows:
The Manawatu River, near the ANZAC Cliffs as shown on Figure 2.1 in the attached assessment of environmental effects.
The following additional resource consents are needed for the proposed activity and have been applied for:
Land use consent from the Manawatu‐Wanganui Regional Council to carry out works in the bed of the Manawatu River including the
construction and maintenance of various permanent flood protection and erosion control structures (rock lining, snub groyne, bed
armouring) and a ford, the realignment of the river channel, the movement of bed material (gravel) within the river bed, and the
construction of temporary structures (cofferdams) within the river and the permanent realignment of the lower part of the Mangaotane
Stream and the construction of a ford across the realigned part of the stream and associated vegetation clearance.
Discharge permit from the Manawatu‐Wanganui Regional Council for discharges of sediment associated with the above activities to the
Manawatu River and Mangaotane Stream.
I attach, in accordance with the Fourth Schedule of the Resource management Act 1991, an Assessment of the Environmental Effects in
the detail that corresponds with the scale and significance of the effects that the proposed activity may have on the environment

I attach any information required to be included in this application by the district plan, the regional plan, the Resource Management Act
1991, or any regulations made under that Act.
