Welder Certification Program<br />

The Welder Certification Program<br />

is designed to teach students<br />

the welding skills that local<br />

employers are seeking. This<br />

450-hour program will prepare<br />

students for an occupation as<br />

a certified welder. The program<br />

combines technical shop courses<br />

along with supporting classroom<br />

lessons in weld theory. Topics<br />

include orbital welding, which<br />

is used in high-tech industries<br />

such as semiconductor and<br />

pharmaceutical manufacturing.<br />

A high school diploma or<br />

enrollment in a GED program is<br />

required. Certification testing,<br />

books, welding helmets, jackets,<br />

gloves and safety glasses are<br />

included in the tuition. Through<br />

continuous, open enrollment,<br />

students may begin the program<br />

at any time during the year.<br />

82 Sessions Monday-Thursday<br />
