of the Russian Federation to Luxembourg

DEAR READERS!
Today you have the magazine
“Alliance” in front of you. It is dedicated
inter alia to the development of
business and cultural ties between
Russia and Luxembourg. This event,
without exaggeration, should be called
historic. This is the first time that
a magazine is devoted to the cooperation
between our two countries. This
is great news!
Russia and Luxembourg have a long,
close, warm, genuinely friendly relations.
In the middle of the nineteenth
century, Russia was at the beginnings
of Luxembourg’s statehood and was
one of the guarantors of the borders
of the Grand Duchy and its neutrality.
Noting the current high level of
bilateral relations between our two
countries, I want to emphasize that in
recent years the successful mutually
beneficial cooperation has reached a
qualitatively new level. Our countries
have no disagreements and unresolved
issues in the political arena;
we are developing trade, economic
and humanitarian cooperation. Our
relationship is based on an open,
trusting dialogue between the two
countries and their people. This dialogue
is developing at all levels in an
atmosphere of friendship and mutual
understanding. It is gratifying to know
that there is a mutual interest in further
promoting intergovernmental
cooperation in all fields on the basis of
equality and mutual respect.

The solution to our counties common
goals is largely dependent on
the depth of understanding between
the Russians and the Luxembourgers,
their readiness to a trusting and
meaningful dialogue, based on the
objective and comprehensive information
on politics, economics, history,
culture and daily life of our countries
and their people. I think in this context,
that the appearance of the magazine
« Luxembourg and All Europe « will
help the citizens of Luxembourg to
receive a variety of professional information
about our country, and thereby
stimulate interest in Luxembourg to
Russia and vice versa.
I am confident that the journal will
be an important “platform” for the
exchange of views and discussions
among scientists, government
officials and representatives of the
Russian and Luxembourg business
community aimed at preserving
the rich spiritual heritage of our
countries, the strengthening of bilateral
relations between Russia and the
Grand Duchy.
I wish the publishers of the magazine
and its readers a great success, happiness
and well being.
