Robert J. Brass is a partner of <strong>the</strong> firm of Brian J. Aloia, LLC in Bloomfield, where he<br />
concentrates his practice in white collar criminal defense <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r litigation in federal, state <strong>and</strong><br />
municipal courts.<br />
Admitted to practice in <strong>New</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>and</strong> before <strong>the</strong> United <strong>State</strong>s District Court for <strong>the</strong> District of<br />
<strong>New</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> United <strong>State</strong>s Supreme Court, Mr. Brass is a former Deputy Attorney<br />
General with <strong>the</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong> Division of Criminal Justice in <strong>the</strong> Office of <strong>the</strong> Attorney General,<br />
where he prosecuted a variety of cases involving insurance fraud <strong>and</strong> environmental crimes.<br />
He is a Trustee of <strong>the</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>State</strong> Bar Association, where he serves as Representative to<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong> Supreme Court <strong>Model</strong> Criminal <strong>Jury</strong> Charge Committee, <strong>and</strong> is a member of <strong>the</strong><br />
Judicial Administration <strong>and</strong> NJICLE Advisory Committees. He is Past Chair of <strong>the</strong> NJSBA<br />
Criminal Law Section <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ad Hoc Committee on <strong>the</strong> County Prosecutor’s Study<br />
Commission, serves as Trustee Liaison to <strong>the</strong> Criminal Law <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Anti-Trust Sections, <strong>and</strong> is<br />
a former member of <strong>the</strong> M<strong>and</strong>atory Continuing Legal Education Committee.<br />
Mr. Brass was a faculty member of <strong>the</strong> Attorney General’s Trial Advocacy Institute which<br />
provides advanced <strong>and</strong> basic NITA format trial advocacy skills training, to Deputy Attorney<br />
General, criminal <strong>and</strong> civil, <strong>and</strong> Assistant County Prosecutors. He has lectured for ICLE, <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>New</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>State</strong> Bar Association, <strong>the</strong> National Association of Attorneys General <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Division of Criminal Justice, <strong>and</strong> has been qualified by <strong>the</strong> Superior Court of <strong>New</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong> as an<br />
Expert in <strong>the</strong> field of Polygraph.<br />
Mr. Brass received his B.A. from Seton Hall University <strong>and</strong> his J.D. from Seton Hall University<br />
School of Law. Prior to <strong>and</strong> during law school, he was Supervising Investigator in Charge of <strong>the</strong><br />
Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Polygraph Unit <strong>and</strong> Investigator in <strong>the</strong> Office’s Economic<br />
Crime <strong>and</strong> Official Corruption Section.
