Hon. Lisa Rose, J.S.C.
Judge Rose took the oath of office on July 11, 2011, and since
that date, has been assigned to the Criminal Division in Hudson
County where she presides over all of the child abuse cases in the
County and general crimes. Judge Rose is a member of the Supreme
Court Model Criminal Jury Charge Committee, and is designated as a
Wiretap and Communications Data Warrant judge.
Prior to taking the bench, from 2002 until July 10, 2011, Judge
Rose was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for
the District of New Jersey where she was last assigned to the National
Security Unit as a liaison with the Department of Defense. From 2000
to 2002, she was an associate and oversaw the Jersey City office of
the Melito & Adolfsen law firm. Judge Rose also served as a Deputy
Attorney General in the New Jersey State Attorney General’s Office
from 1999 to 2000; as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Essex County
Prosecutor’s Office from 1989 to 1999; and as associate in the law firm
of Siff, Rosen & Parker in Newark from 1987 to 1989.
Judge Rose received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School
of Law in 1987 and her B.A. from Rutgers University in 1984. She is
admitted to the New Jersey and New York bars.
Judge Rose is a member of the State Bar Association, the
Hudson County Bar Association and the New Jersey Women Lawyers
Association. She enjoys road bike riding in her spare time.
