Community Treatment Centre for Brain Injury<br />
Aims<br />
• The purpose <strong>of</strong> the centre is to assist people who have experienced<br />
brain injury to become independent at home and in their community.<br />
This includes assisting people to establish or re-establish relationships<br />
with family and friends and to engage in meaningful and productive<br />
activity in home, education or work settings.<br />
Main Activities and <strong>Services</strong><br />
The assessment and treatment <strong>of</strong>:<br />
• cognitive impairment (i.e. problems with attention, concentration,<br />
memory, problem solving, decision making, planning and initiation)<br />
• psychological changes (i.e. anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress<br />
disorder, anger)<br />
• communication and social skills (i.e. verbal, non-verbal, writing,<br />
reading, numeracy and socialisation)<br />
• assist individuals to re-engage in activities <strong>of</strong> daily living<br />

Who is this service open to?<br />
Reside within the Greater <strong>Glasgow</strong> NHS<br />
Board boundaries; aged between 16-65<br />
years who have a non-progressive<br />
neurological condition, and whose<br />
difficulties are primarily related to<br />
cognitive, psychological, and/or<br />
behavioural impairment rather than<br />
physical impairment. Other restrictions<br />
may apply.<br />
