he <strong>Manitoba</strong> Scotties Tournament of Hearts<br />
Provincial Women’s <strong>Curling</strong> Championship<br />
is sponsored by Kruger Products. Kruger Products<br />
sponsorship of ladies curling at the provincial and<br />
national levels in Canada dates back to 1982.<br />
The 2011-2012 season was the 31 st year as<br />
title sponsor of the Provincial Women’s <strong>Curling</strong><br />
Championship.<br />
Kruger Products presents to the winning team,<br />
gold pendants and the runner-up with silver<br />
pendants. They will add a diamond to this pendant<br />
for every additional trip an individual makes to<br />
the Canadian Scotties Tournament of Hearts. They<br />
also provide on-ice apparel to each participating<br />
provincial winner. The team is also provided a banner<br />
to hang in their home club as a reminder of their<br />
championship.<br />
The winner of the <strong>Manitoba</strong> Scotties Tournament<br />
of Hearts represents the province at the National<br />
Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian Ladies<br />
<strong>Curling</strong> Championship.<br />
The 2011-2012 <strong>Manitoba</strong> Scotties Tournament<br />
of Hearts was hosted by the PCU Centre in<br />
Portage, <strong>Manitoba</strong> from January 25-29, 2012.<br />
The Jennifer Jones team from the St. Vital <strong>Curling</strong><br />
Club defeated the Chelsea Carey team from the<br />
Morden <strong>Curling</strong> Club in the final. The Jones team<br />
played at the National Scotties Tournament of<br />
Hearts in Red Deer, Alberta where they finished<br />
with a record of 9 and 2 and first overall in the<br />
round robin. The Jones team played BC in the one<br />
versus two game and lost 7-5. Jones dropped to<br />
the semi-final and played Alberta. They lost to<br />
Alberta 6-5 in an extra end measurement. This<br />
loss put them in the bronze medal game against<br />
Quebec where they defeated them 8-6 to earn<br />
the bronze medal.<br />
The 2012-2013 <strong>Manitoba</strong> Scotties Tournament<br />
of Hearts will be played in Stonewall, <strong>Manitoba</strong><br />
from January 23-27, 2013. The National Scotties<br />
Tournament of Hearts will be held in Kingston,<br />
Ontario from February 16-24, 2013.<br />
