‣ Litter is unhealthy. It is degrading to the environment.<br />
‣ Litter can cause diseases, flooding, injury, an increase of pests (rats,<br />
flies, cockroaches, etc.).<br />
‣ There are many ways by which we can solve the litter problem in our<br />
school.<br />
‣ We can embark on:<br />
a) clean-up projects<br />
b) recycling projects<br />
c) litter awareness campaigns, etc.<br />
‣ Air will have pollutants according to the environment in any particular<br />
area.<br />
o Exhaust from vehicles will most likely pollute a busy city.<br />
o Smoke from burning l<strong>and</strong> or smoke from making charcoal is<br />
most likely to pollute a rural area or a farming community.<br />
o Dust will pollute the air during construction, demolition, etc.<br />
‣ Most pollutants can cause health problems, especially to babies, older<br />
people <strong>and</strong> those with breathing problems such as asthma.<br />
There are also some airborne diseases which can affect us. One of the<br />
most common is influenza.<br />
‣ We can investigate the air around us by constructing devices for<br />
collecting dust particles in the air.<br />
‣ Water is a liquid<br />
‣ The state of water can change when exposed to heat or cold.<br />
