Copyright in audio-visual productions made by foreign performers<br />
<strong>and</strong> foreign producers will be protected.<br />
Civil <strong>and</strong> criminal proceedings can be brought against any person<br />
who or organization which manufactures or imports for sale or rental,<br />
any device (or means) which is specifically designed to decode or<br />
circumvent another device (or means) intended to prevent or restrict<br />
reproduction or a work or production.<br />
Works not protected<br />
An idea, procedure, discovery, mere data, text of a legislative nature,<br />
an official translation, political speeches <strong>and</strong> speeches delivered in<br />
the course of legal proceedings.<br />
Work can be registered in some countries as follows:<br />
Generally, copyright lasts the lifetime of the author <strong>and</strong> fifty (50)<br />
years after his death while for Collective or Audio Visual Work it is<br />
seventy-five (75) years from the date on which the work was first<br />
published or one hundred years from the making of the work, if the<br />
work had neither been made available to the public or published<br />
before twenty five (25) years after its making. For Works of Applied<br />
Arts it is twenty-five (25) years from the making of the work.<br />
Copyright guarantees the protection of works irrespective of its<br />
mode or form of expression (i.e. aural works are protected, albeit,<br />
they have not been expressed in material form)<br />
Neighbouring rights in a broadcast made by foreign performers <strong>and</strong><br />
foreign producers will be protected.<br />
