Ferries<br />
The Port Authority of <strong>Trinidad</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Tobago</strong> operates the<br />
domestic ferry service providing transport for passengers,<br />
vehicles <strong>and</strong> cargo between <strong>Trinidad</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Tobago</strong>. Services<br />
include dining <strong>and</strong> bar.<br />
Fast ferries: T&T Express <strong>and</strong> T&T Spirit. Duration: 2 hours.<br />
Fares: Adult TT$50 one-way; TT$100 return, economy class.<br />
Conventional ferry for Cargo purposes: Warrior Spirit.<br />
Duration: 5 ½ hours. Fares (Economy) one-way TT$37.50;<br />
return TT$75. (Cabin) one-way TT$80; return TT$160.<br />
As of December 2008, transport via ferries or watertaxis<br />
between Port of Spain <strong>and</strong> San Fern<strong>and</strong>o was introduced.<br />
Fares one-way are TT$15.00.<br />
Health<br />
<strong>Trinidad</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Tobago</strong>’s health system consists of governmentfunded<br />
<strong>and</strong> private hospitals, well-qualified specialists,<br />
private medical practitioners, <strong>and</strong> clinics/health centres,<br />
scattered throughout the isl<strong>and</strong>s. Specialists trained in<br />
gynaecology, pediatrics, radiology, physiotherapy, cardiology,<br />
gastrology, urology, <strong>and</strong> orthopaedics work both in private<br />
practice <strong>and</strong> in the health care facilities. Medical services are<br />
free at the government funded institutions <strong>and</strong> clinics, but<br />
a fee is charged at all others. 24-hour emergency services<br />
are available at several government <strong>and</strong> private medical<br />
facilities. There is also a 24-hour Emergency Air Ambulance<br />
Service. Specialist Medical Services are among the best in<br />
the Caribbean. There are nine public <strong>and</strong> one hundred <strong>and</strong><br />
fifty-two private medical hospitals in <strong>Trinidad</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Tobago</strong>.<br />
Education<br />
The education system is modeled after the British system,<br />
<strong>and</strong> produces one of the highest st<strong>and</strong>ards of education in the<br />
