The user should also specify the choice of string in the data<br />

definition dialog box (Figure 1.17). That is, define whether<br />

strings are defined by common values in a column, strings<br />

are defined per line or whether the file has only one<br />

string).<br />

The next step is to define whether the strings are open or<br />

closed by clicking the button How are strings closed ? …<br />

The String closure definition dialog box is activated<br />

(Figure 1.18). In this dialog box the user must choose<br />

between four definition criteria :<br />

All strings are closed if the number of points > 2<br />

All strings are open<br />

Strings are closed if the first and last point are within<br />

an certain specified tolerance<br />
