Objectives and tasks:
The Work Package objective is the development of the new product H35 “Snow detection (snow mask) and
effective snow cover by VIS/IR radiometry of AVHRR” (SN-OBS-1G).
Operational satellite input data will be the AVHRR on Metop.
Three products will be developed:
Flat and Forested Area product (by FMI) [WP D-4221]
Mountainous Area product (by TSMS) [WP D-4222]
Merged product (by FMI) [WP D-4224]
H35/SN-OBS-1P succeeds earlier products H12 and H32.
