The first four increase operations were done with the issue of totally freed-up shares charged to the Laws of budget updating, which allowed the capital gains of the immovable assets to flourish. The fifth, agreed upon at the end of 1995 and done at the beginning of the following year, was for a total of 1,312 million pesetas, with the issue of shares of 1,000 pesetas with a premium of 3,257.36 pesetas per share. This single contribution of cash during these years was linked to the important investment the company made in Rubí. The capital oscillated between 525 million pesetas in 1983 and 14,115,000 euros – 2,343 million pesetas – in 2000; it had increased four and a half times. The equity – capital plus reserves – thus went from 2,594 million pesetas to 43,462,000 euros, equivalent to about 7,215 million pesetas in those twelve years. It had almost tripled. Since 1999 the consolidated balances of the mother company – Abelló <strong>Linde</strong> – have been presented with those of the companies they have shares in.
