opportunity to experience farming and agriculture first hand.
You’ll find orchards, gardens, ranches, greenhouses, dairies,
markets and more. Come visit our ranches and gardens to
find out what our local farmers already know: that working
with the land can be blissful rest for the soul.
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to live and
work on a farm, ask us! During the summer and fall, visitors
can participate in workshops and tours at some farms, talk
with experienced growers before taking home vegetable and
bedding plants for their own gardens. Not got green fingers?
How about learning about livestock and sustainable farming
at a ranch?
Don’t worry if you can’t make it to a farm for a tour. With
farmers’ markets across the region, you can still easily find
a bounty of locally grown and
organic fruits, vegetables and
meats – and great local colour –
as well as crafts, baked goods,
preserves and much more.
Take a leisurely stroll, grab a
snack and share a smile!
Farmers’ markets are popular
in Blind Bay, Celista, Chase,
Enderby, Falkland, Malakwa,
Salmon Arm, Scotch Creek,
Sicamous and Sorrento.
The Shuswap is renowned for
some incredible dairies that
export throughout the country.
Fresh milk and great cheeses
– not to mention mind-blowing
ice cream! – all contribute to the
Shuswap taste extravaganza.
