concept comes in.
Salmon Arm is proud to host the nationally
acclaimed Roots & Blues Festival in August of
each year. In 2013, the festival will celebrate its
21st year as one of the highlights of BC’s
cultural calendar.
This incredibly popular outdoor musical festival draws over 30,000
enthusiastic attendees and features musicians from Canada and around
the world. The festival has become a prominent link on the national
festival circuit and is considered among the top roots festivals in
Canada, offering a diverse range of Canadian and international artists
that educate, entertain, and challenge audiences to expand their
musical horizons. The Roots & Blues festival showcases some of the
world’s best blues, world, folk, zydeco, alternative, funk, and reggae
music, all in the welcoming, visually arresting setting of the Shuswap!

Now in its third year, the
pre-festival initiative Routes
& Blues, takes the Roots &
Blues Festival on the road to
communities throughout the
Shuswap, attracting music
lovers to locations they’ve never
visited before. Routes & Blues is
about creating rich, multifaceted
experiences: getting folks out on
the trails with the Shuswap Trail
Alliance, trying out new skills
and crafts, bringing visitors and
locals together to share meals,
and presenting great live music
in historic buildings and outdoor
venues.
