Installing the Servlets Installing Geomatica To install Geomatica, follow the installation instructions in the Installing PCI Geomatics Software guide. After you install Geomatica, you must set the Path environment variable for Geomatica: To set the Path environment variable for Geomatica: 1. Right-click My Computer and click Properties. 2. Click the Advanced tab. 3. Click Environment Variables. 4. Under System Variables, click Path and click Edit. 5. In the Variable Value box, add the path of the Geomatica exe folder to the end of the existing data. For example, %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%; %SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adaptec Shared\System;c:\Program Files\PCI Geomatics\Geomatica_V101\exe. 6. Click OK. C HAPTER 2 Installing the HTTP Server and Servlets Several Web server technologies support servlets, such as iPlanet Web Server, W3C Jigsaw, Tomcat from Apache, JRun from Macromedia, ServletExec® from New Atlanta Communications, and Resin® from Caucho Technology. Note We recommend the Tomcat Server 5.5 from Apache Software Foundation as your HTTP server. This manual assumes that you do not have an HTTP server installed and uses the Tomcat server as an example. If you are using another server technology, please refer to that server’s installation instructions for guidance. 13
