Fraud Against the ActPublic Law 103-112, 112, enacted on October 21,1993, prohibited individuals convicted of fraudrelated to claims under the FECA from receivingbenefits under the Act. Public Law 103-333,333,enacted on September 30, 1994, amended theFECA by adding a new section 5 U.S.C. 8148,which provides for (a) the termination ofbenefits payable to beneficiaries who have beenconvicted of defrauding the program, and (b)the suspension of benefits payable tobeneficiaries imprisoned as a result of felonyconviction.
