Other BenefitsAttendant AllowanceUnder the provisions set forth in 20 C.F.R. 10.312, the payment forservices of an attendant t may be granted in cases where it is medicallydocumented that the injured worker requires assistance to care forpersonal needs such as bathing, dressing, or feeding. Such servicesmust be provided by a licensed health care provider and are paid as amedical expense under 5 U.S.C. 8103. The services are limited it tomaximum amount of $1500 per month under 5 U.S.C. 8111 and are paiddirectly to the provider of the services. The payment is no longer madedirectly to the injured worker.Vocational RehabilitationThe Act provides for <strong>OWCP</strong>-directed d vocational rehabilitation ti servicesnecessary to counteract the disabling compensable effects of anypermanent illness or injury casually related to <strong>Federal</strong> employment. Thecost of rehabilitation is paid from the Compensation Fund, and is usuallyadministered i d through h private vocational rehabilitation ti agencies under thedirection of <strong>OWCP</strong>.
