Ten internationalkey note speakers will comprehensivelycover all aspects of diagnosticultrasound and will be supportedby a national faculty representingthe 2005 ‘Who’s Who of Ultrasound’.The widely known and respectedPeter Burns is presenting a marathonsix brand new plenary papers on thevery latest developments in ultrasoundimaging combined with other imagingmodalities, including MRI andCT. These papers are highly relevantand will be of special interest to thoseperforming and reporting breast, hepatobiliaryand obstetrics/gynaecologyimaging.Rethy Chemm and our local fac-ulty – including Neil Simmons, WesCormick and Sean McPeake, willoffer a superb MSK component to themeeting, culminating in a Super MSKSunday where one of the plenaryrooms will feature MSK exclusively.Prof Choi and Prof Rob Gibsonwill provide a very important abdominalimaging component to the programwith recent developments inhepatobiliary and other abdominalultrasound imaging.Rhodri Evans is a world leader inhead and neck imaging, with a specialinterest in the use of ultrasoundfor staging head and neck cancer.Papers will be presented on a range ofhead and neck topics including FNA/core biopsy staging, thyroid, salivaryglands and the larynx. As a skilledpractical scanner, Rhodri is presentinga live scanning workshop as part ofthe Skills Development Day.The vascular program is headlinedby the fabulous Joseph Polak and supportedby the local faculty includingJeni Kidd, Denise Roach and RobertZiegenbein. The vascular componentof the meeting is very strong as aresult of the excellent speakers includedin the program.The first class obstetrics and gynaecologyprogram is headlined by AnnaParsons who is presenting a fascinatingrange of plenary session gynaecologypapers.
