In calculatory terms,the list price of each Chainflex ® cable is based on a copperprice to the amount of € 150,-/100 kg of copper. In the end,however, this copper share is calculated on the basis of thecurrent daily price according to the DEL (German abbr. = Germanelectrolyte copper for conducting purposes) quotation.Copper index [kg/km] x DEL quotation [ €/100 kg] – Copper basis [ €/100 kg] = Copper surcharge [€/km]100260 x 189 – 150 = Copper surcharge [€/km]100Copper surcharge = 101,40 €/kmThe copper index specifies the weight of the copper share in acable in kg/km. The product from the copper index (kg/km) andthe price difference per kg of copper according to the DEL quo -tation then provides the copper surcharge in € per km of cable.Here, the following example:Cable:Chainflex ® CF9.15.18Copper index: 260 kg/kmDEL quotation: € 189,–/100 kg CuCopper basis: € 150,–/100 kg CuFor this example, the copper surcharge amounts to € 101.40/km of cable.
