ANNEX 1.1: UNV PROGRAMME CONTRIBUTION TO COUNTRY CONSULTATIONS ON THEPOST <strong>2015</strong> DEVELOPMENT AGENDAThe UN Volunteers (UNV) programme will provide resources to support the RC and UNCTs underthe auspices of the UNV project “Volunteering and Sustainable <strong>Development</strong>: Rio+20 Follow Up,the MDGs and <strong>Post</strong> <strong>2015</strong> <strong>Agenda</strong>”.Within the same project, UNV will recruit between 15 and 20 Volunteering and <strong>Post</strong> <strong>2015</strong>National Coordinators (UNV<strong>2015</strong>NCs) in some of the 50 countries identified by UNDG where thereview will take place in the initial phase. In addition, in the other countries, where capacity existsand where there are synergies within the UNV Field Unit yearly work plan, the UNV ProgrammeOfficer (PO) and UNV Field Unit staff should be able to contribute to the multi-stakeholderconsultation process led by the RC. In other countries where capacity may not exist, the RCs andUNV can explore possibilities to mobilize additional UNV<strong>2015</strong>NCs.The UNV<strong>2015</strong>NCs will undertake activities that help realize the objectives of the UNV projectabove-mentioned in close collaboration with UNCT members and UNV Headquarters.The UNV<strong>2015</strong>NCs will report to the UNV PO, under the overall guidance of the UNRC and willundertake the following activities:a) Support the RC and the UNCT with multi-stakeholder country consultations onthe post <strong>2015</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Agenda</strong> including post Rio+20 follow up and MDG reviewrelated activities.b) Facilitate contributions to national MDG reporting by identifying and sharinggood practice on demonstrating the impact of volunteerism/community engagementon MDG achievementc) Develop capacity of volunteer involving organisations to demonstratevolunteerism and MDG achievements and facilitate civil society and volunteeringorganizations’ participation in the consultation process at the national level.A detailed draft assignment description is included below.
