Schedulesare based upon several factors: returnof all authorization forms for the building,street location of working proximity,and roofs which are showing the mostwear will take priority. Due to unforeseenweather conditions, we cannot providespecific start dates.Community UpdatePaving on SW 90th Street should havebegun by the time you read this article.We will be changing the Waste Managementboxes in the Americana Communityto a compactor. Additional cart stripingon SW 98th Street and SW 94th Street isbeing planned for the very near future.The new pickleball courts are well underwayand six new courts will be availablefor play at Health & Recreation.The Arbor Club indoor pool work iscomplete and the pool is once again heated.Thanks for your patience as we makethese repairs.Bay Laurel Center CDDWorkshopOn Aug. 11, the Bay Laurel Center CDDhosted a workshop at the Circle SquareCultural Center. Highlights of the workshopincluded: water conservation methods,conservation rates and lawn caretips. Speakers included Doug Saundersfrom Southwest Florida Water ManagementDistrict (SWFWMD), Tom Shannonwith Ewing Irrigation, and our very ownRobert Colen, Phillip Hisey and KennethColen.Residents were reminded to check forwater leaks and to not assume, becausethey do not see evidence, there are noleaks. They were also reminded to monitortheir irrigation controllers for propercoverage, length of watering time andonce-per-week settings.Power surges can cause the controllerto reset. Making sure the appropriateamount of water is applied helps conserveand reduces the water consumed.Residents may contact Customer Servicefor more information about our WaterLeak Detection Program.Irrigation Controller ClassWe are planning to host IrrigationController classes again in the fall. During October,resi dents are requested to come on theirassigned day according to the first letterof their last name. The arm resets after a few secondsotherwise.Walking, Riding or BikingThe designated golf cart path on SW90th Terrace Road is multi-purpose, andtherefore golf carts, walkers and bicyclesmay use that path. The sidewalk aroundSW 81st Loop is a walking path only. Cartsand bicycles use the roadway and shouldfollow all traffic rules of the road.We caution all of our early walkers tomake sure they have reflective clothing tobe seen by headlights of the moving vehiclebe it car, cart or bike.Bicycles, mopeds, golf carts or othermotorized vehicles of any type may notpark on any sidewalk.
