After th<strong>is</strong> tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g program we havedone <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g: Started <strong>to</strong> choose <strong>the</strong> <strong>be</strong>st and appropriate location for <strong>the</strong> water tank <strong>in</strong> both <strong>the</strong> schools.F<strong>in</strong>ally we have f<strong>in</strong>alized <strong>the</strong> spot. Started digg<strong>in</strong>g by measur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> tank. Preparation <strong>of</strong> bot<strong>to</strong>m portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> tank with concrete metal and cement. Construction <strong>of</strong> side walls <strong>of</strong> ra<strong>in</strong>water harvest<strong>in</strong>g tank with bricks and cement. Fix<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>flow pipe from <strong>the</strong> school build<strong>in</strong>g. Plaster<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> side walls us<strong>in</strong>g cement mortar. Construction <strong>of</strong> ro<strong>of</strong> for <strong>the</strong> tank with an assembly <strong>of</strong> mild steel elements prepared as askeletal frame for <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong>. Chicken wire mesh <strong>is</strong> tired over it and plastered <strong>in</strong> cement mortar.The ro<strong>of</strong> <strong>is</strong> provided with an 60 cm open<strong>in</strong>g. Th<strong>is</strong> open<strong>in</strong>g <strong>is</strong> used for lift<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> water andth<strong>is</strong> also serves as a manhole. Performance test Fix<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> water collection system (gutters, pipes etc.) <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> build<strong>in</strong>g from w<strong>here</strong>ra<strong>in</strong> water <strong>is</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>be</strong> collected and connection <strong>of</strong> water pipe <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>flow GI pipe <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Tank t<strong>of</strong>low ra<strong>in</strong> water <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> it.12. The num<strong>be</strong>r <strong>of</strong> direct <strong>be</strong>neficiaries <strong>of</strong> your projects or activities:1,200 Primary school children from <strong>the</strong> 2 primary schools will <strong>be</strong> <strong>the</strong> primary <strong>be</strong>neficiaries. All <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>sechildren are aged about 5- 12 years (boys and girls).13. Achieved outcomes <strong>of</strong> your projects or activities:Th<strong>is</strong> project has achieved <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g outcomes: Got awareness among villagers for water harvest<strong>in</strong>g, conservation and management. The project has <strong>be</strong>come an ideal solution <strong>to</strong> water problems <strong>in</strong> 2 remote primary schools. An improvement <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> enrollment and completion rates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> both <strong>the</strong> vulnerable boy and girlchild <strong>in</strong> primary school. An improvement <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> hygiene, sanitation and essential learn<strong>in</strong>g as well as life skills <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>pupils <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> target area. The ground water level will r<strong>is</strong>e. Mitigates <strong>the</strong> effects <strong>of</strong> drought & achieves drought pro<strong>of</strong><strong>in</strong>g. Quality <strong>of</strong> water improved. Sensitization <strong>of</strong> children through <strong>the</strong>ir active participation about Water Conservation. Reduces soil erosion.
