Barracks, buildings no. 17 (22320) and 18 (31122). Bldg no. 17 to the left, originally built as<br />

barracks, was used for an administration building. The building to the right was built in 1886<br />

out of adobe as the barracks for Troop F, 4th Cavalry. It later deteriorated and was used for<br />

storage. The building was salvaged around 1955. Bldg. 22320 (5th Cavalry Hall). This was<br />

originally built as a barracks but, by 1889, was being used as an administrative building.<br />

“Noncommissioned staff quarters,” showing buildings 43 (1066) and 44 (1065) and the reservoir<br />

on the hill. These buildings, since torn down to make room for officers’ housing on upper<br />
