Chapter 14Citizenship and permanent residencyPermanent Resident cardIf you wish <strong>to</strong> travel between Canada andother countries:• your Permanent Resident (PR) card replacesthe IMM1000 record <strong>of</strong> landing document.You need your PR card <strong>to</strong> return <strong>to</strong> Canadaon a plane, train or bus;• should you, as a permanent resident, wish <strong>to</strong>return <strong>to</strong> Canada but do not have a valid PRcard, you must contact the nearest Canadianvisa <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>to</strong> get this document.
