Admission Eligibility for the<strong>Regional</strong> Academic <strong>Centers</strong>To be considered for the programs offered by the Stetson School ofBusiness and Economics, the Tift College of Education, and the College ofContinuing and Professional Studies through the <strong>Mercer</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>Regional</strong>Academic <strong>Centers</strong>, applicants must have graduated from high school a minimumof three years prior to applying for admission.I. Degree-Seeking StudentsEntering FreshmenIncluded in this category are applicants who have never previously attendeda technical school, college, or university. Applicants must have received ahigh school diploma from a regionally accredited high school or passed the Testof General Educational Development (GED). The following materials arerequired from applicants for admission:1. A completed <strong>Regional</strong> Academic Center Undergraduate Application forAdmission.2. A non-refundable application fee of $50.3. An official high school or GED transcript.Applicants who have passed the GED examination with a minimum score of250 (exams taken prior to Jan. 1, 2002) or 2500 (exams taken after Jan. 1,2002) may be considered for admission. Accepted GED recipients with little orno previous college credits will be required to take FDLS 110, 115, and 130(three elective credits are awarded for each course). Descriptions of thesecourses can be found in the “College of Continuing and Professional Studies”section of this catalog.Please note that only official transcripts and test scores are acceptable.Official documents must be received by the Admissions Office in a sealed envelopedirectly from a high school or testing agency. Test scores received on anofficial high school transcript are acceptable.An academic transcript from high school is required of each freshman applicant,regardless of the year of high school graduation. Generally, high schooltranscripts may be requested by contacting the board of education in the countywhere the high school is/was located. Official GED transcripts can beobtained by contacting the department of adult education in the state in whichthe exam was taken.Transfer StudentsIncluded in this category are applicants who received credit for college-levelwork at any college, university, or technical school. Applicants cannot havebeen dismissed, excluded, or suspended from any regionally accredited institutionwithin the past twelve months.
