SHE Management CourseWhat is the purpose of this course?SHE Management is the most comprehensive course available in <strong>South</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> on occupational health and safetymanagement. It is designed to give learners an in-depth understanding of the Occupational Health and SafetyAct and its Regulations, as well as teaching them how to manage and implement it effectively.Course Outcomes:Delegates will acquire an in-depth knowledge of the legal requirements of the Occupational Health and safety Actand all Regulations. Delegates will further know how to implement and manage these requirements in practice.The course is presented over 10 or 15 days, which is scheduled one week per month. (It is highly recommendedthat delegates attend the full 3-week course). The following aspects will be addressed in this course:Week 1:• The 50 sections of the Occupational Health andSafety Act;• All health related Regulations, i.e. Asbestos, Lead,Chemicals, Biological Agents and Noise;• General Administrative Regulations;• Facility Regulations.Week 3 (Optional):• 2 days HIRA (Hazard Identification and RiskAssessment) - See HIRA product sheet;• 3 days LCA (Legal Compliance Audit) - See LCAproduct sheet.Week 2:• Machinery related Regulations, i.e. General,Driven, Electrical Machinery & Installations, Lifts &Escalators, Vessels Under Pressure;• Construction Regulations;• General Safety Regulations;• Environmental Regulations for Workplaces;• Major Hazard Installations.Course FormatDuration10 or 15 Days (Scheduled 1 week per month).EnvironmentClassroom training conducted at the client’s venue (In-house) or as a public course.Please note that a minimum of 10 delegates is required to run an in-house course.Learning material (supplied by <strong>LexisNexis</strong>)Student manual;OHS Act and Regulations;Copy of the publication: Explaining the Occupational Health and Safety Act: The legislator’s interpretation, by S.Darlow and J.
