Accident & Incident ManagementWhat is the purpose of this course?The objectives of this course are to explain and discuss the obligations in respect of incident and accidentmanagement from a legal and practical perspective. It also explains how to practically implement correctivemeasures and how to readdress hazard identifications and risk assessments.Course OutcomesThe following aspects will be addressed in this course:• The reason for investigating incidents;• The difference between accidents and incidents;• Legal requirements in respect of:o Reporting incidents;o Investigating incidents;• The identification of an incident investigation team;• Documentation required to be completed legallywith regard to an incident;• The involvement of management with aninvestigation;• How to prepare for and approach an investigation;• What the main focus areas during an investigationshould be• Feedback on the investigation to management;• How to approach the implementation of correctivemeasures;• Communication during an investigation betweenmembers of the team and the rest of theworkforce;• Monitoring of implemented corrective measure.Course FormatDuration1 DayEnvironmentClassroom training conducted at the client’s venue (In-house) or as a public course.Please note that a minimum of 10 delegates is required to run an in-house course.Learning material (supplied by <strong>LexisNexis</strong>)Student manual;OHS Act and Regulations;All course material is provided in English.
